A place of hope, aspiration and kindness

Rina, Grade 10

Enquire now

Rina has three siblings and is the second sister. Her older sister dropped out in grade 4 and works as a domestic worker. Her younger brother, 14 years old, studies in Grade 7 at the secondary school in her hometown. He struggles with the school work and he usually finds it difficult to read. This is mainly due to the fact that he cannot attend school regularly as there are shortages of qualified teachers. Many other students have the same problem.  She wants to become a teacher in her village and develop her isolated community.

Her father is in the army and her mother works at home. They have no farmland to work, just a piece of land for their house. Her family depends entirely on the salary from her father for their daily living costs and education for her and her brother. It will cost a lot more when she goes to high school in the city, especially for supplementary tutoring.
